PERFECT FAIRYTALE, 2025
CHRISTINA DIEBEL

A face like something from a fairytale.
Strikingly beautiful. Balanced. Flawless. Almost unreal.

The eyes catch your gaze, and don’t let it go.

Symmetry calms. It promises order, clarity, control.
But true symmetry is rare. And when it becomes too immaculate, it starts to feel artificial.

Too perfect?
Too smooth?

In a world shaped by algorithms and AI ideals, perfection is no longer the exception, it has become the standard.

But if perfection becomes the norm, does imperfection turn into rarity?
The true exception?
Does it captivate us because it feels alive?

This portrait shows more than a face.
It holds the space between desire and distance, between what feels human and what is made, between

the image, and everything it quietly leaves behind.

Close-up fine art portrait of a woman with symmetrical facial features, direct gaze, and bold pink eye makeup. Her expression is calm and confident. The image explores themes of perfection, artificial beauty, and human presence in an age shaped by AI and algorithmic aesthetics.

“Perfect Fairytale” reflects on the evolving nature of beauty in a world shaped by algorithms, symmetry and visual perfection.

The work examines the subtle tension between what is aesthetically flawless and what feels human. Situated between realism and constructed ideal, the portrait invites viewers to question how perception, emotion and artificial standards influence our sense of the authentic.

What draws us in? Perfection, or the imperfections that feel alive?
